Fennel is best known for its effect on our lymphatic and digestive systems and as such, is a useful addition to blends targeting slimming, cellulite management, puffiness, and general skin recovery.
Most common applications for Fennel (bitter and sweet) include:
- Slimming Massage Treatments to assist in the elimination of toxins by stimulating the microcirculation.
- Calming massage treatments that support digestive health and target bloating and wind.
- Skincare targeting puffiness and congestion such as products for eye bags and for skin recovery treatments.
- Herbal Perfumery. From mood-enhancing spritzers through to roll-on perfumes, fennel brings an interesting blend of notes that span sweet, woody, earthy and herbal.
- As part of an anti-microbial blend. Fennel has antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

Fennel is useful in creating blends that balance, calm and ground us. It is often used during spiritual practices / meditation or in preparation for study or even as an aid to relaxation.

Common uses: Fennel has traditionally been used as a stomachic and carminative. In skin care it is recommended for dull and oily skin.

Aromatic scent: While Bitter Fennel does still have a sweet, liquorice-like note at its heart, it is more woody and earthy. Bitter Fennel is a well-rounded, complex oil that brings freshness and depth to a blend without any harsh edges.
Caution: May cause sensitisation in some individuals. Avoid use if suffering from epilepsy. Avoid during pregnancy.
