The Buriti tree (or moriche palm) is a slow growing tree of the wet tropical areas of South America. It produces an edible fruit which contains a medicinal oil that has traditionally been used topically for treating burns.

Properties: This oil is a rich source of natural Beta Carotene. It contains five times more beta carotine than carrots at around 30 g per 100g pulp. Beta Carotine is a powerful antioxidant, useful in reducing the potential for inflammatory damage of the skin. As such this is a wonderful addition to any anti-ageing formula or for products aimed at protecting aged, dry or sensitive skin.
Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.
Use Levels: Typically up to 2% due to the rich red colour but can be used up to 10%
Heat Stability: Best added during cool down phase.
