The whole herb is used to produce Horsetail Extract.
Horsetail extract is well known for its mineral content, specifically silica, which is concentrated in the shoots of the plant. Horsetail extract has been known to strengthen hair, bones, nails and teeth, due to being high in silica, which is good for the skin and nails.
