Deep conditioning starts from within the follicle and that's where this course takes you. We explore the science and beauty of caring for hair naturally. We explore hair nutrition and chemistry before diving into our hands-on 'how to' guide to product application and selection. This course specifically covers the needs of curly, frizzy, coily and/ or damaged hair but the scalp conditioning tips and insights apply to all hair types.
During this one day course you will customise and build a range of six different formulations all designed to work with rather than against the hair.
The course is designed to suit brand owners, hair product enthusiasts, stylists and salon owners alike and while the emphasis is on natural ingredients as actives, some safe synthetics may be present in the formula bases.

Amanda Foxon-Hill is our in-house cosmetic chemist teaching expert. She has over twenty years experience in guiding students and brand owners through new product development and onto launch, trouble-shooting and customisation. Amanda's approach is to meet students where they are at which often starts with identifying and investigating the myths and misconceptions around the topic before focusing on building a solid foundation of scientific literacy. This approach is designed to teach you how, rather than what to think.
Amanda also consults to the cosmetics industry on all aspects of green chemistry and product development and advocates the promotion of sensible science to consumer groups via her blog www.realizebeauty.com.
Amanda has a degree in Chemistry and a Diploma in Cosmetic Science and Formulating.

Once a workshop booking has been confirmed, all workshop bookings are non-refundable however may be transferred to another date if available, gifted to a nominated person, or a credit to the maximum value of the workshop can be saved to use for purchases of New Directions products and services via the website, over the phone or within our showroom. Workshop booking cancellations must be made no later than 7-days prior to the scheduled date of the workshop.
