Zinc sulphate is sometimes used in bath products, skin fresheners and astringents for microbe control and to help with wound healing - pimples etc. As it can be irritating to the skin we recommend that clients patch test carefully before adding this to a formula.
There have been studies done looking at Zinc Sulphate in the treatment of acne with reasonable results.
Use: 0.1-2% for cosmetic although TGA products can use more.
Formulation Tips: Zinc is a tricky mineral to work with as it is so powerful. It is incompatible with many materials including carbomers and anionics.
