We wish you the happiest of holidays!
Phew, we made it!

It's time to shut the factory door for the year and take a well-earned break but before we say goodbye to 2019, we wanted to give you a taster of our new baby - NDTV - our YouTube channel that is all about starting and sharing business building conversations with you, our New Directions family.

Ok so you're tired, you need a break and the last thing you want to do is think about work but wait, this is different, this isn't work at all, this is fun and this is your time to shine! Whether it's chatting to existing brands about what makes them tick or introducing new ideas, courses, ingredients and products that encourage further exploration and development, you can be assured that there will be something interesting and a little bit different happening at NDTV.

NDTV is a space for you and throughout 2020 we will be following brands as they go from start-up to grown-up, learning from industry professionals and established business owners and sharing what we find along the way. In true New Directions style, we're focused on creating a conversational and relaxed, supportive and friendly vibe, a vibe that reflects the true mix of chaos, determination and passion that we all know we need to sustain us in this fast-paced industry.

In this newsletter you will find links to video interviews from men's skin care brand Milkman and Rural soap maker and skin wellness brand Washpool Soaperie. There's a chat with The Beauty Room Cosmetic Clinic owner Meredith Langley about her business journey plus we explore one of New Direction's exciting new customisable hair mask with Hairdresser educator and brand owner Sam Overton. Sam and I take a look into the myths and stories around the use of silicone based ingredients in the hair care space before demonstrating the difference between silicones and natural alternatives on our model. Finally, we have a written feature, our interview with Men's Barber Shop and Stag Grooming brand owner Austin Jackson for those of our customers who wish to limit their screen time or who prefer the printed word to moving pictures.

So sit back, relax and let NDTV entertain you for an hour or so this holiday period.

Have a beautiful holiday period and we look forward to seeing and hearing from you in 2020.

Behind the Brand with Austin Jackson from Stag Men’s Grooming
There is a big difference between commanding and demanding attention, maybe the ritual of shaving teaches men to preference the former over the latter and if so, maybe it is men like Austin whom we should thank for reminding us.

The relationship between Austin and New Directions started with him attending our skin care and business courses. Since then, Austin has been a client of the technical Help Desk and general business. We caught up with him during Movember to talk skin care, shaving and the symbolic importance of shaving in the lives of men.
