Formulation Tips:
- For hot/cold processes, add Apple Stem Cell into aqueous phase below 40 ºC
- Apple Stem Cell is thermostable for up to 60 ºC for a short time
- Optimal pH range of 4 – 9
- In aqueous / ethanolic solution > 50 % ethanol, slight precipitation may occur. It can lead to a slight turbidity of the following gel formers: cellulose, carbomer and acrylate-polymers
- Not suitable for water-free formulations
- Presence of cationic surfactants can lead to precipitation
Did you know? Uttwiler Spätlauber is a historic Swiss apple variety originating from a seedling first cultivated in the mid-18th century. It became well known for its exceptional ability to be stored for extended periods without shrivelling. In contrast to modern apple cultivars, which are primarily bred for higher yields and sweeter taste, Uttwiler Spätlauber has a more acidic profile and is now becoming increasingly rare. This unique apple is naturally rich in phytonutrients, proteins, and long-living cells. Notably, it contains particularly resilient tissue stem cells, whose distinctive composition is associated with its remarkable durability and longevity characteristics.
