Features: Helichrysum French Essential Oil, also known as Immortelle or Everlasting Essential Oil, is a sought-after ingredient for premium natural skincare formulations. Properties/Benefits: Helichrysum Essential Oil is naturally rich in neryl acetate and contains characteristic compounds including italidiones and gamma-curcumene. The oil is used in skincare and fragrance formulations for its distinctive botanical aroma.

Did You Know? Despite its botanical name, Helichrysum italicum is not exclusive to Italy; it grows across parts of the Mediterranean, including Corsica. The name Helichrysum comes from the Greek words helios, meaning “sun”, and chrysos, meaning “gold”, referring to its bright golden flower heads. These papery flowers retain much of their colour and shape after drying, inspiring the traditional names “Immortelle” and “Everlasting”. The plant is also known as the curry plant because its foliage has a curry-like fragrance, although it is unrelated to the curry tree and is not a standard ingredient in curry powder.

Supplier Information: Our supplier’s roots lie in a family distillation business on Corsica, a French Mediterranean island located just north of Sardinia, Italy. The founder learned the art of distillation alongside his father, a thermal engineer who developed an innovative distillation process in the 1980s. This technical knowledge and commitment to quality were passed from father to son, who established the present essential oil company in 2019. The family also owns and operates a distillery in Madagascar, extending its specialist knowledge across different aromatic plants and growing regions. Today, the business combines decades of distillation experience with controlled production methods, strong traceability and close oversight from plant to essential oil. This Helichrysum is cultivated and distilled in Corsica.
