Steam distilled from the leaves and seeds this oil is often used as a carminative, expectorant and antispasmodic. It is often used in temples for calming and soothing fatigue and to clear the head ready for prayer.
Being a spice oil Basil is highly active and can be irritating so best to use as a minor note in an essential oil blend.
