Product Description
Ingredients: Capsicum Annuum Fruit Extract
This capsicum powder is readily water soluble and should not need filtering prior to use although we would advise dissolving the powder before adding other ingredients to your formula to make sure it goes into the mix.
Capsicum powder doesn't have the capsaicin content that the oleoresin or oils contain so it won't tingle the skin but as a member of the nightshade family a few people may be sensitive to its chemistry.
In terms of vitamin concentration capsicum is a good source of vitamin C, K and B6.
Vitamin B6 is involved in maintaining a healthy barrier functionality and general skin condition. It can increase photosensitivity of some other actives if used in high doses so we do recommend taking care if adding this to a sun protection product or SPF day cream.
Vitamin K has anti-inflammatory properties and can assist in improving the appearance of dark circles.
Dose Rate: Typically used at between 0.1-5% as supplied.
Colour: Creates a very light yellow liquid.
Aroma: very mildly reminisce of capsicum depending on strength of solution used.
Solubility: water
Heat Tolerance: Should be fairly heat tolerant under normal cosmetic manufacturing conditions but vitamin C concentration would be expected to deminish over time when heated and when exposed to oxygen unless stabilised.
