INCI: Squalane
Squalane (Olive Derived) is a naturally derived emollient produced from olive oil unsaponifiables. Highly stable and a plant-derived equivalent to human sebum, this Squalane is perfectly compatible with the skin.
The mild characteristics of Squalane (Olive Derived) make it a versatile addition to numerous cosmetic formulations where it will not interfere with colour or aroma.
Squalane (Olive Derived) has a good slip profile where it spreads easily with a non-greasy and silky skin-feel. Further to this, it can also be used as a pigment dispersion agent or a perfume fixative.
As an emollient, it is a great vegetable alternative to mineral oil and hydrogenated polyisobutylene.
Appearance: Clear colourless oily liquid
Raw Material Origin: Unsaponifiable matter of olive oil, followed by hydrogenation
Suitable For: Make Up, Skincare, Hair Care
Recommended Usage:
- Up to 100% as carrier
- Up to 10% as emollient (for leave on cosmetics)
Solubility: Oil Soluble

- Add to oil phase
- Can be used in hot or cold process
- Can be heated up to 75°C
- Can be homogenised if needed
