Properties/Benefits: Ximenia oil contains Ximenynic acid, a powerful anti-inflammatory fatty acid and one that's also found in Sandalwood fruit oil.  Chemically this oil is more of a liquid wax than a vegetable oil in as much as its fatty acid chains are very long. Because of this the oil has a slightly stringy, long-flow rheology that is great for giving long-lasting barrier protection with a rich, cushioned after-feel. Also, Ximenia oil is rich in beneficial compounds including oleic acid for moisturisation and tocopherols for antioxidant protection.

Fatty acid profile:

• Oleic acid C18:1 (an omega-9): 40% to 44%
• Ximenynic acid C18:1: 17% to 22% 
• Octanosenoic acid C28:1: 11% to 13%

Texture: Ximenia oil has a lightweight texture that is easily absorbed by the skin and hair. It is typically non-greasy and leaves little to no residue, allowing it to be easily applied and absorbed without leaving a heavy or greasy feeling.
