Did you know? The lifetime of a Tea Tree is about 30 to 80 years. Our producer plants their trees only once for the entire lifetime of the Plantation. During harvest, the trees are cut back to a stump from which it regrows for another crop. There are no seedlings to replant from one year to the next. Some of their oldest trees date back to 1992. Their typical yield rates fluctuate depending on weather conditions from year to year. Typically, they produce 10 to 12 tonnes of oil. Their Plantation is 62.5 hectares, which amounts to about 160 kg to 190 kg of tea tree essential oil per hectare.

Supplier information: Our supplier believes in sustainable and eco-friendly practices, which is why they work closely with the country's leading tea tree agronomist. They are committed to reducing the need for pesticides, allowing nature to resolve any issues naturally. To promote a healthy ecosystem, they encourage the growth of ladybug populations to combat "pest" insects like pyrgo and psyllid larvae. Their family-owned horses and cows roam freely through the tea tree plantations which they have no appetite for, eating "bad" grasses and weeds, which ultimately helps to create natural fertilisers for the soil. If nature can't resolve an issue, they adhere to ATTIA [Australian Tea Tree Industry Association]'s code of practice and schedule for pesticide use. While they are not an organic farm, they strive to produce natural essential oils that are as close to organic as possible. They take pride in their commitment to sustainability and believe that it sets them apart from other suppliers in the market.
