Description: Glycol Distearate

INCI: Glycol Distearate

Material Origin: The glycol part of this molecule is sourced from ethylene glycol which is currently petrochemical derived, the distearate is from stearic acid which is usually from vegetable sources.

Solubility: Oil Soluble but surface active so can be melted into an aqueous product.

Benefits: This is used as a pearlising agent or opacifier for emulsions or surfactant formulations.

Melting Point: 58-64 C

Applications: Upon cooling this recrystalises to form either a turbid or pearlescent structure giving a luxurious look to your surfactant formulation or cream.

Useage: Usually 2-4% but in some cases up to 10% is used.
