Carnauba wax is exuded from the leaves of the Brazilian palm tree known as Copernica Cerifera. The tree is also referred to as the "Tree of Life" since local Brazilians use its produce for many uses and to meet multiple necessities.
Found in the north eastern region of Brazil, the Carnauba tree proliferates along river banks, streams and damp lowlands. Although various Carnauba palms exist in other parts of South America, Africa and Ceylon, Carnauba wax is unique to the Brazilian palm due to Brazil's irregular rainy seasons.
Carnauba wax is a fantastic natural wax to use in cosmetics as it works as an excellent emulsifier or thickening agent.
Recommendations: Use between 0.5 - 15.0% in formulations.
Applications: Use as a thickening agent in cosmetic creams, lotions, baby products, lipsticks, lip balms, mascara, eyeliners/shadows, makeups/foundations, pencils, and hair care products.
Certification: Australian Certified Organic
