Workshop Overview

After completing Create Your Own Skincare Stage One workshop, you will be ready to take a much closer look at what goes on inside a cosmetic product and how products achieve the things they claim on the label!

This one-day hands-on workshop introduces you to a range of different actives including peptides, vitamins, herbs, AHA's and enzymes. You will discover the biological targets of each different type of ingredient, how to formulate safely with different technologies and how to combine actives for a fuller, faster effect.

This course builds on the scientific language, terminology and laboratory practice you learned in part 1, focusing on preparing you for launching a commercial brand. While this course still uses New Directions bases as starting points, we begin our dive into cosmetic ingredient labels and gain insight into how to decipher them.

By the end of this course you may be hungry to learn more chemistry and start the journey towards developing your own bases or you may feel comfortable in focusing on customisations and other aspects of brand development. Those looking for more formula development insight should book into our Cosmetic Chemistry Part 1 & 2 workshop while those looking for a more hands-off approach to brand ownership may move straight to our business course.

This workshop is offered as a live and interactive study-at-home workshop that runs from 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays. Participants will have an ingredients kit and recipe booklet delivered to their location and will use this during class to create a range of beautiful skincare.
